'Making The Pieces Fit'

was the theme of our Women's Retreat.
The piece I created

was used for the cover of our brochure.
As women we have so many pieces that
make up our lives yet often we forget
to put God at the center of our puzzle.
We spend time trying to make pieces fit
that really don't belong to us.

Each year we head south to the southernmost tip
of New Jersey and find ourselves
in the Historic Village of Cape May.

We enjoy strolls along the beautiful beaches,

reflecting on the wonders of God's creations.

We visit the Cape May Lighthouse
and study God's word.

We had beautiful weather this year which
enabled us to spend a great deal of time outdoors.
As we stolled the quaint streets of Cape May
we took in all the local eye candy.

The town has some of the most amazing examples
of Victorian Architechture.

You can ride the trolleys around town should you find
all the walking to be too much.

There are countless Bed and Breakfasts
in the area, all exhibiting their own charm.

You can even take a carriage ride if you prefer.

The downtown area boasts many lovely restaurants

and countless ways to part with your money
shopping in all the unique gift shops.

We were able to enjoy three beautiful days
looking out at the ocean as our hotel
was right on the beach.

While we had lots of fun and fellowship,
and while we enjoyed
great food and service,
ultimately our time was spent exploring
God's place in our lives and accepting
our roles in His great plan.
We were blessed with an awesome
opportunity to examine
our gifts and talents and to praise
God for all the blessings in our lives.
