It's been quite a while since I have
participated in Jamie Ridler's
Wishcast Wednesday @
I have always enjoyed Jamie's Prompts,
they certainly encourage us to
stop and assess our dreams,
but of late I've felt like I was
just too busy to participate.
There will always be dishes to do,
laundry to attend to
and meals to prepare.
If I don't make time for my dreams
then who will?
I cannot expect God to change
things
if I keep doing things the same
old way.
Today's prompt is
'What do you wish to have?'
I wish to have more time to persue
my art, to spend more time
simply enjoying my home and gardens,
aside from toiling to maintain them.
I want to be able to allow myself
time to relax and enjoy
the fruits of my labor. I wish to visit
the beach more often.
all it is just a mere five minutes away,
yet I rarely take the time to
enjoy it.
While I do enjoy taking care of
my family and my home
I want to have balance...
guilt free time to enjoy my blessings
without thinking I should be
doing something more productive.
"What do you wish to have?"
I can relate to you. What Diva wishes, so I wish for her as well. Welcome back to the Wishcasting community.
ReplyDeleteGreat wish! I wished for balance as well! Love all the photos:)
ReplyDeleteAs Diva Kreszl wishes for herself, so I wish for her also.
My wish is the same as yours - I completely understand the need to dream, relax and enjoy things around us. A dear friend of mine told me I need to schedule a day - or at least 1/2 a day - a week to relax and do something I want to do. Maybe I would wander with my camera, read, sit and enjoy my home and garden (if I don't look at the work to be done), write or whatever I want to do. Haven't been able to do it yet but hope to schedule it in soon and then keep it just for me. That's the plan - don't know if it will work!

What you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also!
ReplyDeleteSuch fine responses to that prompt. I wished for a new vacuum cleaner. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteMe too! I think we should all schedule at least a few minutes each day, anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour each day for this very purpose. If we can't do that, I think we should at least put into our schedule a two- to four-hour time period once a week that is ours to do with what we wish where we promise ourselves to ignore the long to-do list.
ReplyDeleteI adore all of the vintage photos. I would love to have a vintage bathing suit.
Me too me too! As Diva wishes for herself, so do I wish for her also!
ReplyDeleteI loved your post of older photos. The good old days had their good points too.
ReplyDeleteAs you wish for yourself, so I wish for you also!
ReplyDeleteOf do I agree with you......

ReplyDeleteSame here! Only a five mile drive to the beach but I rarely go. It's all about priorities I guess. But I always can find time to play and make art! Have a great day.

I completely understand your wish. I want to 'taste' life more, and enjoy the moments that I am so very fortunate to have. I think the problem is this: it takes a lot of work to keep the Good Ship Lollipop running. For me, it means I have to be happy with a house that is less than perfect, a yard with a few dandelions, and maybe even a few dishes in the sink (imagine! ;). Then I can make more art, enjoy more walks, and spend more time with the people I love. xox!
ReplyDeleteHello my friend...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post! It's so easy to get caught up with and get busy with life...that sometimes our dreams take a back seat! I pray that you also will have more time to just relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor, my friend! Sometimes we just have to "purpose it"!!!
Hmmm...I did note that it was you and your honey's anniversary yesterday! Wishing you both many blessings and many more happy years together!!! Happy Anniversary!!!
I'm so glad that you stopped by for a visit today, my friend! I always enjoy your visits and sweet notes! Thank you!!!
Warmest wishes,
Chari @Happy To Design
So many can relate to this, Diva! Very charming in the telling.
ReplyDeleteAs Diva wishes for herself, I wish for her also!
ReplyDeleteWell girl you know I am loving this wish...not only do the photos make me smile..but I hope in some little way I might be able to help you find a bit of balance!! Hugs and love, Sarah

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you created the time to come back to wishing. And what a beautiful story you created with pictures! I'm glad you're here.
As the sweet Diva wishes for herself, so I wish for her also. May you find time to put down the dishes (love those retro images) and get yourself to the beach girl! Sun and fun.
ReplyDeleteSee you over at Sarah's!
Dear Diva, thank you for visiting my blog, hope you will come back again! I checked yours and realized you are exactly what you wrote to Jane. You have a very rich soul. I am glad I came here to visit you!
ReplyDeleteDid you learn Portuguese with your parents? My kids know how to speak, but have no interest in learning how to write!! So sad!
Take care.
