It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas!

When my 'Dickens Village' gets put up in the formal living room
I know that the Christmas season has officially begun!
My husband bought my forst three buildings as a Christmas
gift for me the first year we were married. Each year after that he and
the boys would add a few more pieces until finally I had to tell
them no more. I was simply out of room! I love putting it up,
it's like playing house but it takes me most of the day.

Even if it doesn't snow outside we always have a White Christmas here.
Can't you just imagine yourself strolling through this town on a snowy evening?
Of course since husband's and children rarely know what to buy Mom,
even when she says she doesn't need anything, they soon latch onto new ideas.

Here are a few of the Santas they have bought for me over the years.
That collection grew and grew until they moved onto something else.
On the opposite wall of the formal living room is the snowman tree.
In the dining room is one small taple top tree in
patriotic 'Red, White & Blue'.
It sits on my server alongside some Longaberger baskets.
My foyer is decorated too of course!
It's hard to see into the curio but if you could you'd see
my 'Lenox Snow White Collection'. Are you beginning
to see a pattern here? If my husband or sons get an idea
I like something they run with it and every holiday
and birthday gift is taken care of for at least two years.
My favorite tree is the one in our family room,
it's where we spend most of our time together,
and each ornament holds special meaning.
I hope you enjoyed visiting my home, I certainly
enjoyed having you!

  1. You have your home decorated so pretty. I have always enjoyed the Dickens Villages in the stores. My sister has a village of some kind she leaves up all year. I just enjoy seeing what others have.

  2. Oh, how beautiful everything looks. I love the village.
Thanks so much for coming by..
Have a great rest of the week.

  3. Oh so beautiful...yes the spirit of Christmas has visited your home! :)

  4. Everything looks wonderful! Your Dickens village is fantastic! I just finished part of my Courier & Ives village on my mantel. Had to change things a couple of years ago when we got a new entertainment center to hold the flatscreen TV - no more nice, long top of the entertainment center for my village. I have a counter with my linen cabinets at the end of our hall - it's always the Courier & Ives country scene. Still have to set is up this year. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home.

  5. Oh the men in your life have been taking very good care of you. What a lot of treasures to enjoy and I just love your village. (I have a much smaller one that I just inherited from my grandmother. I'm not sure if I can bring myself to put it up this year...)

  6. Oh what beautiful Decorations! You are so blessed to be able to enjoy these treasures! I loved seeing them! xxoo

  7. Everything is amazing! lucky you guys have big homes over there! One day I would like to have a big American Style home so i could decorate it that way! I have no idea why they build homes so small here! Just Beautiful Diva, it's a real WONDERLAND!

  9. OMG This looks like my grandmas I hate to say but I ma so lazy I do not decorate for Christmas because I hat the clean Up . But I love seeing what others do.

  10. Oooooh I'm in love with your Dickens village, how delightful it is!! I could sit there for hours just staring at it all and admiring every little piece:-) I can well imagine how many hours it takes to set it all up.

Your house is so beautifully decorated and I love the different themed trees. That's too funny about your hubby and kids starting you off on various collections every couple of years. It was the same here when my boys were at home but now I usually get gift cards! lol xoxo

  11. The little village looks great, and all your other decorations are beautiful as well. I love seeing everyone's trees and Christmasy things.

  12. What a wonderland of Christmas at your home. I love your Dickens Village. It is just magnificent. I have two sets in different sizes, but only enough to fill a curio cabinet on 5 shelves and another hutch with 3 shelves. Your Santa collection is wonderful too. I also collect Santas floor standing size. Your trees are beautiful. Looks like you are ready for Christmas. Everything is perfect and so comfy and homey.

Thank you for stopping by and your kind comment.
    Have a special Christmas.
    Hugs from Texas,
    Celestina Marie

  13. Oh my goodness, Diva. Your home is a winter wonderland. It is beautiful. You must be a wonderwoman ~ it takes a lot of time and energy to decorate so lavishly. I'm sure your family is very appreciative.
You have a lot of wonderful collections that must bring fond memories with them.
Be merry during these blessed days.
