Sorry I've been out of the loop for a few days...my very sweet husband suprised me by leaving work early Friday and taking me to our cabin in Pa for the weekend! We try to get there at least once a month since it's a 4+ hour drive from our home here on the Jersey shore. So this delightful and unexpected trip was a real treat!
I have to thank all of you wonderful bloggers who have stopped by to visit and leave me encouragement and tips on my blog...you are all so sweet and I can use all the help I can get. I am determined to learn the ins and outs of this because you all have such beautiful blogs and I so enjoy visiting you. My youngest son goes back to school in two weeks so I will have more time to devote to learning this new craft. You see we share the computer and he tends to monopolize it when he's home. I have thought about getting him his own PC but wanted to wait until he's off to college, a lot changes in two years and he'll need the latest features I'm sure. That gives me an idea...I may give myself an early Christmas gift and start looking into laptops, anyone have any tips on what I should look for and what features I may want???
Hi Diva, Glad you had a good weekend! Those are the best surprises! As far as computers go, if you aren't going to store and manipulate huge amounts of graphics/photos, any name brand will do. Don't buy an off brand...you really get what you pay for. There are always specials to be found, especially in this economy. I think your biggest decision is laptop or desktop. You have the longest blog roll I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteHi Diva! Thanks for stopping by! Your cabin getaway sounds special just like my lake house....I have a Dell laptop and am very happy with it....but my techie son picked out all the specs for me! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteTreat yourself and get your own laptop. That was a nice thing your husband did. Having a nice weekend away always helps. Trust me, if I can do this blog stuff, you can. I would not even be doing it if my niece had set it up for me and said get with it. There is so much I still do not know, but it is fun. I am really enjoying it. Hop in and you will do well. Thanks for leaving me a comment.
ReplyDeleteHi- Lucky you! Cabin! That's what I would love. Where in PA? I live 45 min. from Gettysburgh and maybe 35 from Waynesboro . I'm right at the borders of W. Va., Va., and aprts of Pa..
ReplyDeleteIf you want less frustration, I'd get a Mac. It'll cost you more, but you will be so happy, and things are always workable. They don't get viruses (well, hardly ever, ever, ever do),and they are so easy to get around. Once you learn it, you probably will not want to go back to a pc..And you will thank me.tehe...Lydia
PS- Thanks for the continued prayers!:)
ReplyDeleteHi Diva--I just got a HP laptop --1230us entertainment Notebook pc and I love it----so far anyways--decided I just did not want to have all the pieces that take up room with the regular computer--I don't need to take this baby anywhere's as I am alway home--but with the laptop you do have that oportunity to be able to take it anywhere's---I got mine at Staples as they also service them there and you don't have to send it out some place and I did get the extra 3 years of insurance on it---have fun decideing!!!!!Hugs, just, Di
ReplyDeleteOops! My comment vanished. I just said I had a Dell and that they fixed them while you were on the phone. They take over the computer...with your permission and you can watch your cursor move about...it's interesting. The time on the phone makes me crazy..but...no turning it in as yet..and it has been two years! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd on I go in my travel through your blog! :)
Havin' fun here! :)
